When I was on holiday in Japan, I noticed some rather unique designs on drain covers around the different cities and took it upon myself to collect as many images of these as possible and digitise them in their own unique style. I started this project off in 2023, where I simply created flat designs on Adobe Illustrator and turned them into stickers, but now, in 2024 I have since cleaned up each design and created a looping animation with the constraints of having a maximum of 5 colours and lasting a maximum of 10 seconds. This self-set brief has taught me different ways to interpret and observe static images by bringing them to life while simultaneously developing my animation skills.
